Just saw last night’s Real Time and have to say, Carly is as fabulous as ever, and she was never fabulous. At the end of the show she decides to slam California which she insists is in such a bad state because of “decades of liberal policies,” which isn’t even remotely true. California, after decades of liberal policies (as the article of CrooksAndLiars points out) was very successful. Suddenly it was underfunded after conservative governors. And now it’s coming back again. She insisted that it’s the 49th state in education. That’s bullshit. It’s 48th, and is still better than two of the most conservative states, Texas and Mississippi: http://ift.tt/1Ky5jOx She also made some claims and repeatedly insisted they were the facts. She said California has the “highest poverty rate.” It’s in fact 35th: http://ift.tt/1Ky5jOz And the thing that caught everyone unaware is her insistence it has the highest income inequality, as though conservatives give a shit about that. California is the 8th in terms of what’s called the Gini coefficient, so she’s wrong even there: http://ift.tt/1ADJc3E Apparently someone needs to let Carly know that the word ‘fact’ doesn’t mean convenient bullshit you pull off the top of your head when you need to, to save face for your ideals’ and their failures. Which is in everything.
