If there’s ever a meme that didn’t get a single word right, it’s this:
Seriously, every single word on this is a problem. Let’s go through it.
“If the theory of evolution were true…” No if. It’s just fucking true.
“There are millions of these,” it says, pointing to the chimpanzee. Not only is the choice of a chimpanzee a stupid choice, there’s also not millions of them. They’re endangered. Thanks to us, Homo sapiens sapiens, in fact, just about every other primate is endangered.
“The between species.” They are not between shit. Chimpanzees and human beings have a common ancestor. Let me put it this way. If I were to draw your family tree as such:
Aunt –> Brother –> Grandmother –> Daughter –> You
You’d think that was absolutely stupid. Guess what… every speciman alive right now is at the end of its line, unless it procreates. It’s not between you and jack shit. Your grandmother is not between you and your aunt. But all five of the people above have a common ancestor. Well in this case the grandmother would be it, but we’re talking about the animal kingdom. The chimpanzee is not the common ancestor. It’s not our origin. That’s what makes this meme supremely stupid.
“and millions of these.” Billions, actually. There are over 7 billion humans. You couldn’t even get that word right.
“So where are the millions of these?”
Remember when I said chimpanzees are endangered, like every other primate? Yep. Extinction. But we have these things called fossils. You know, evidence of the evolutionary record. It couldn’t be more clear and cut and dry than our fossil records have made it.
There are millions of birds (probably more), and there were millions of dinosaurs which were their ancestor. So where are the millions of pterodactyls? Extinct. See? It’s not that hard a concept, people.
This meme isn’t just a failure of understanding of evolution, it’s a failure of the English language, of logic, of even having a desire to understand what the fuck it attempts to talk about, and so much more.
If it’s that above your mental capacity, just leave it to the adults, okay?
